Word of the Day: Octopus

Octopodes are some of the coolest creatures of the sea. Not sure if I remember seeing a real one, but I still think they’re quite neat! I’d hate to sit here and do Wikipedia’s (or to be honest, anyone capable of writing about this’) job so I just wanted to write a little bit about octopuses.

Oct apart of a order called octopoda and are mollusks (I didn’t know that).

Octo – eight; pod – feet Both likely are Greek in origin, however octo shows up in Latin too. Together this is eight-feet or eight legged. Octopus means the same thing meaning eight-legged.

Here’s a sentence with octopus in it:

The students went to go see the octopus in the aquarium and were surprised to see it has a beak.

Here’s a video from NatGeo
This one is funny and very interesting!
